It is So

Updated: Aug 18, 2020

Psalm 33:11 (CEB): But the Lord’s plan stands forever; what he intends to do lasts from one generation to the next.

Proverbs 19:21(CEB): Many plans are in a person’s mind, but the Lord’s purpose will succeed.

Isaiah 55:11 (CEB): so is my word that comes from my mouth; it does not return to me empty. Instead, it does what I want, and accomplishes what I intend

Depending on your age (and I may be telling age right now lol), when you were little you may have uttered the phrase “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” This phrase is a common response mean, hurtful, or nasty comments. Well ladies and gentlemen, I hate to break it to you, but that statement is a bald-faced lie. Lol Words are singularly the most powerful force available to humanity. We can use our words constructively to encourage, comfort, or inspire or destructively to harm, humiliate, or hurt.

Your words – my words – our words carry enormous power … power to bless and power to curse. Words can kill. Words can heal. Words can damage. Words can inspire. Furthermore, the Word is God. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God (John 1:1). Death and life are in the power of our tongues (Proverbs 18:21). So, we need to be careful and conscious of how we use our words towards others and ourselves.

The good news is that God’s words have power beyond what we can think or imagine. Just think about it…before Genesis there was nothing (biblically speaking). Then God began to speak the world into existence. When God speaks, nothing remains the same. When God speaks, the universe must shift to align with His Word. So, when God gives you a promise, or speaks a word into your life, it WILL prevail, from generation to generation. No COVID-19 pandemic, unemployment, sickness, circumstance, person, elected official, or layoff can stop it. All we have to do is remain obedient to the will of God. It may take time and you may have to go through some things before the promise manifests, but it will happen.

I understand that the disappointments, storms, trials, and tribulations of life may lead you to believe that God is like man. Newsflash, He’s NOT. God keeps His word and is not like man that He should lie (Numbers 23:19). God's words do not come back empty and they fulfill their purpose (Isaiah 55:11). The words, promises, and visions God has given you are not suggestions, they are realities already manifested in the spiritual world that you may be awaiting the manifest in the natural. So, continue to seek God’s guidance through prayer. Though your promise may tarry it shall come to pass if you don’t give up. Whatever you are experiencing in this moment does not to what God has for you. Remember, when God speaks, things happen.

When God speaks IT IS SO!
